Description:
Nose Work is a fun detection-style sport based on the foundation skills used for other K9 Detection training. The unique curriculum adopted for classes promotes a positive, fun and confidence building environment. Its a great class for your dog to have fun, build confidence and burn lots of mental and physical energy. Develop your dogs natural scenting abilities by using their curiosity, desire to hunt and their love of food, toys and exercise. This is a course where the dogs are introduced to additional searching scenarios, such as other objects, elevation. This sport allows reactive dogs to participate and because of that all classes require that each owner bring a crate for their dog each week. During class, only one dog at a time works, while the other dogs are in their crates. See the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) for more info: http://www.nacsw.net. Please bring to class each week - a crate (or you can work your dog from your car), flat collar or back snapping harness, 6 foot leash, food, and toy if dog is toy motivated.
Drop ins are available for this class if space is available, members $25 and non Members $30. Contact the instructor for availability.
