This class prepares your dog to pass a standardized therapy dog test which will enable you to volunteer wherever therapy dogs are welcomed. Therapy dogs are traditionally found in hospitals and rehabilitative facilities as well as in hospice and nursing homes. Additionally, libraries and schools encourage visiting therapy dog teams which educate children about pet care and safety and offer the opportunity of participating in the National Kids Read Program. Please see for more information on therapy dogs and testing.

This 6 week class will run for 5 consecutive weeks, one week off, followed by certification testing at week 7.  During week 6, students will be offered the opportunity to attend an optional site visit to a neighborhood facility to experience therapy dog work firsthand.  This optional drop-in
session will be a separate $20 fee for those who chose to participate.

All class registration fees must be paid prior to attendance of the first session of class.

Unpaid registrations could result in the registree losing their place in class and if there is a waiting list for that class the next person on the waiting list will be awarded the seat.

Acceptance into any class at Bayshore Companion Dog Club is at the discretion of Bayshore Companion Dog Club.

Class Registration Checks that are returned to the Treasurer will result in a $25.00 returned check fee assessed and payable before the student attends the next session of the class.

Bayshore Companion Dog Club reserves the right to cancel any classes that do not meet minimum attendance requirements.

Class schedules are subject to change without notice.
